James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship

The James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship is offered as a local scholarship through Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. The strongest recipients/applicants of the local Stemler scholarship may have their applications forwarded to compete for the National Alpha Lambda Delta Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship. Our local awards vary in monetary amounts. Please note that the deadline for the local Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship differs from the National deadline for this scholarship.  The local scholarships are normally due in the fall semester and the national scholarships will have a spring deadline.

Each year, National Alpha Lambda Delta awards 20 scholarships to outstanding undergraduate members to support their educational opportunities as part of study abroad programs. These scholarships are valued at $1,000 or $2,000 each, and have been established to help qualified members offset the costs of studies abroad. These awards must be used towards a study abroad program within 12 months. Candidates will be considered on the basis of merit. In order to apply, students must submit:

1. Complete the online application (link below).
2. Two letters of recommendation (at least one must be from a faculty member).
3. An official transcript in the envelope containing your application.
4. A 2″x3″ wallet-size photo.
