Vicky is a senior majoring in General Biology on the Pre-Pharmacy track, with a minor in Business. She joined ALD in the Spring of 2019 and became a member of the Enrichment Committee and the VP of Event Planning before serving as Co-President this year. Vicky is also a member of SHAC and serves as the VP of the Pre-Pharmacy Society. Some of her hobbies include singing, playing instruments, and modeling.
Jyotsna is a senior pursuing a Neuro/Phys major on the pre medical track. Aside from ALD, she is also the Vice President of the American Medical Student Association and a Research Assistant on campus at the Language and Music Cognition Lab. In her free time, she enjoys writing, listening to music, playing the piano, and baking.

Omoleye Adeyemi is a Sophomore majoring in Physiology & Neurobiology on the Pre-Medicine Track, with a minor in Humanities, Health and Medicine. She wishes to go to Med School and become a Pediatrician that influences the life of many younger children, she wants to give children a new look into medicine. She also has a Youtube Channel (itstolz) and an Event Planning and Decorating business, she enjoys being a creative and helping people one way or another. She is apart of Student Alumni Leadership Council, BioFIRE Living & Learning Research Program, Charles R. Drew Pre-Health Society, United Against Inequities in Disease, and African Students Association. She is also a UNIV 100 Teaching Assistant and loves to volunteer!

Hi everyone! My name is Isabelle, and I am your VP of Volunteerism! I am a senior neurobiology and physiology major with a Spanish minor who loves working with kids, reading, hiking, and traveling all around the world. I am also super passionate about volunteering, and some events I’m looking to plan are in-person (COVID-pending) arts and crafts to give to local schools, donation sorting for the local shelters, and collaborations with other organizations! I hope to see you at all the events!

Shawn is a public health science student enthusiastic about helping anyone and everyone however he can. He hopes to do so through funding the educational pursuits of Maryland ALD members as VP of scholarships. He is interested in research and creating projects that incorporate multiple disciplines. Outside of that he enjoys touring museums, stargazing, and catching up on his favorite sports teams.

Laurel Dietrick is a junior Neuroscience major. She is originally from outside of Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. She joined ALD the spring of her freshmen year and served as a committee
member on Event Planning her sophomore year. Laurel is excited about becoming your VP of
Academic Enrichment and answering any questions you may have. Laurel serves as a facilities
supervisor at Eppley on campus and involved with Active Minds at UMD, The Pride, and Terp

I’m Natalie and I’m a journalism major and a history, law and society, and international development and conflict management minor. I’ve been a member of ALD since spring 2020 and I am the new VP of Communications! I’m so excited to keep everyone connected this year and take on a leadership position.
VP of Event Planning
Hello ALD! My name is Olivia Irby and I will be your new VP of Event Planning for the 2021-2022 school year. I am a Senior Biology; Physiology and Neurobiology Major. Some of my hobbies include cooking, watching movies, and I have recently gotten into crocheting. I have lots of plans for Events this year In-person and virtual. These include outdoor yoga/Exercise and possibly a virtual game show night with prizes. I so am excited for this upcoming year.
VP of Finance
Emily is a senior public health science major on the pre-dental track and is looking forward to serving as the VP of Finance this year! She is a TA, GSS leader, mentor for the Maryland Mentor Corps, and volunteer at the Red Cross. She is also involved with the Undergraduate Student National Dental Association, Student Dental Advisory Board, Origami Club, and Supporting Hospitals Abroad with Resources and Equipment. In her free time, she enjoys getting boba with friends, exploring new food places, and reading.
Hyekang (Kevin) Joo
Kevin is a first-year graduate student studying Computer Science at the University of Maryland. Kevin has served as a TA for a computing science course at UMD for a couple of semesters during his undergraduate years. Kevin is primarily involved in research at the intersection of Computer Vision, Robotics, and Human-Computing Interaction.
