My name is Alyssa Hecht and I am a senior majoring in biology and dance. I will be serving as this year’s Vice President of Volunteerism, and I have been committed to community service throughout my time at the University of Maryland. In addition to ALD, I am also a brother and exec member of Alpha Phi Omega, served as president of the Honors Humanities branch of the honors college, am president of the Pre-Optometry Society, and serve as the team captain for the Honors Ambassadors.

Omoleye Adeyemi is a Junior in Letters & Sciences planning on majoring in Media & Digital Media Communications, with a minor in Humanities, Health and Medicine. I am the incoming VP of Scholarship and I wish to make many more students within ALD aware of the several scholarship opportunities that are available to them. For so long a lot of people within ALD aren’t aware of the many scholarships ALD has to offer, and I would like to make several scholarships available to the ALD students. I am involved in several clubs and organizations here on campus. I enjoy watching movies, creating social media/youtube content, volunteering, and helping others any way I can!

Hi everyone! My name is Mariama Cham, and I am a junior Government and Politics major. I’ve been a member of ALD since fall 2021 and I am the new VP of Academic Enrichment! Aside from ALD, I am also the Public Relations Co-Chair of the Black Pre Law Association, and a BSOS Ambassador. Outside of school, I enjoy baking, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. I am excited this year to plan for events in person and virtual. These include a resume workshop, interview tips with the career center, and tips for navigating LinkedIn. I hope to see you all at the events!

Hannah Lowe
Hey! My name is Hannah Lowe and I am our new VP of Event Planning! I will be a junior this upcoming school year and am double majoring in Criminology and English. Besides ALD, I am involved in many different organizations, which includes my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and my national honor fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi. I love playing sports, which is seen through my involvement in UMD Club Tennis, volunteering and doing community service, making vlogs and TikToks, exploring new cities and trying new activities, and spending time with my family and friends. I am very excited about this upcoming school year and have many incredible event ideas, some of which include social picnics on McKeldin Mall, day trips to various places like DC, and dances, that will allow us to create an amazing close-knit community. I can’t wait for this year to begin and to get to know all of you better!
